The Mission of the Grosse Pointe Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (GPCMRS) is to deepen our understanding of the broad panorama of Medieval and Renaissance life. 

The GPCMRS promotes and fosters relationships between scholars, experts, students and the general public with an aim to enrich our understanding of how this extraordinary period of history shaped our present world.

The Center undertakes the following activities:

- Production of our journal "Convivio" which contains articles, book reviews, updates on member activities and notifications of upcoming learning opportunities

- Compilation of an events calendar covering local, regional and global learning opportunities of interest to members

- Maintaining a directory of affiliations, resources, organizations and contacts of interest to members

- Facilitating a social media forum for the exchange of ideas on topics of interest to members

- Participation in related educational, social and philanthropic activities

- Sponsorship of educational and social activities of benefit to the community

The Center is committed to the free exchange of ideas, collegiality, diversity and inclusion.  

The Center does not fund or engage in primary research or other activities that duplicate the work of established academic or research institutions.  

The Grosse Pointe Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (gpcmrs.org) is organized as a privately funded educational non-profit. The Center undertakes various activities to support its operations and is supported by contributions, activity fees, and grants.
